Ferry rates in BC could see an annual 2.3 percent increase following a proposal by the BC Ferries Commissioner.
In the proposal, the Commissioner says that the increase is to counter inflation and operating expenses, under the assumption that traffic will level off.
If the recommendation goes through, rates would increase annually beginning on April 1st of next year, and ending on March 31st of 2024.
Members of the public now have until September to submit comments and concerns to the BC Ferry Commissioner.
