A backyard barbecue blaze had one member of the Terrace RCMP springing in to action Friday night.
At around 8:00 Friday night, an officer on routine patrol on the 4900 block of Medeek Avenue was flagged down by a resident.
After following the resident to the address, police found a barbecue had caught fire and become fully engulfed in flames.
Prior to the officer’s arrival, the propane tank had been disconnected, but the fire continued to burn.
Using his fire extinguisher, the officer was able to quickly extinguish the blaze.
There is no further information on the condition of the food being cooked at this time.
