According to the BC Prosecution Service, a former Burns Lake mayor is set to enter a guilty plea relating to sex assault charges.
Luke Strimbold, who served as the community’s mayor from 2011-2016, is facing 29 sex-related charges.
Strimbold has been accused of sexual assault, sexual interference, and invitations of sexual touching by seven complainants, all under the age of 16 at the time of the alleged incidents.
Fifteen of the charges date back to Strimbold’s time in office.
Exactly which charges, or how many of them, Strimbold intends to plead guilty to is unknown at this time.
