Medical students in northern BC are being given an opportunity to visit and learn from First Nations communities thanks to the First Nations Health and Wellness Plan.
That plan was the focal point of a presentation at Northern Health’s Board Meeting this week.
Through a partnership with the First Nations Health Authority and local Indigenous communities, the program aims to help improve cultural safety in northern medical services.
Split in to two separate programs, undergraduate students will be able to take part in cultural and local knowledge exchanges thanks to the Plan.
