Local governments in the northwest are partnering up to invest in the regional workforce.
More than 175 thousand dollars in Rural Dividend program grants were announced for the area yesterday.
Now, the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine has announced a partnership with Terrace, Prince Rupert, and Kitimat, which will see that money reinvested in workers.
Together, the partners are launching the process of submitting a Reguest for Proposal to execute their attraction and retention strategy.
That strategy aims to raise the profile of the northwest, ensuring its competitiveness in attracting and keeping workers and families.
Rural Dividend funding will be put towards a research-based strategy which will include branding and advertising throughout the province.
