BC has accepted the federal government’s offer to split funding on restarting abandoned rural bus routes.
According to Federal Transport Minister Marc Garneau, BC is the only province to accept his government’s offer of a 50/50 split.
There will be no cap to the two-year deal, which is intended to help fill routes abandoned when Greyhound departed western Canada.
Provincial Minister Claire Trevena says that the 2 million dollars invested in the BC Bus North program will be included in the cost-sharing agreement.
