Volunteers collected about 6100 kilograms of garbage during a recent volunteer clean-up in the Terrace area.
A number of organizations, including the BC Conservation Officer Service, pitched in for the Greater Terrace Beautification Society’s annual Garb-a-thon Sunday.
Conservation Officer Michael Geuze says in one of the worst hit areas, they found not just litter, but illegally dumped items like construction debris and appliances as well.
Geuze describes illegal garbage dumping in the Terrace area as rampant.
