Some Coast Mountains students are not impressed with recent administrative changes announced by the school district.
A few dozen Skeena Middle School students walked out of class shortly after 11 Wednesday morning and converged on the district office to state their concerns about the loss of their Principal and Vice-Principal.
Distrct 82 announced last week that the middle school’s long-time Principal Phillip Barron and Vice-Principal Cory Killoran would be returning to the classroom next fall and that Cindy Sousa would be coming from Hazelton take over as Principal.
Current Suwilaawks principal Pam Kawinsky will also be returning to teaching while Julia Jacobs, current Cassie Hall Vice Principal will take over as Principal at Suwilaawks.
The district has not elaborated about the reasons for the flurry of administrative changes.
However, it says it is now engaged in a Canada-wide search to fill one Principal vacancy and three Vice Princial positions in the district.
