Ten northwestern First Nations are among 153 rural and Indigenous communities receiving new provincial funding.
19 million dollars total was divided among the projects for the Rural Dividend Fund’s fifth intake.
1.8 million of that will go to the 10 northwestern regions, with the Gitxsan, Nisga’a, Gitxaala, and Nuxalk Nations taking home the largest portions.
Those three nations will receive 472 thousand, 432 thousand, 337 thousand, and 100 thousand dollars, respectively.
The Witset, Wet’suwet’en, Kitselas, Kitsumkalum, and Cheslatta Carrier Nations will also receive funding, along with the Skidegate Band Council.
