Prince Rupert has applied for 10 thousand dollars in funding from the Northern Development Initiative Trust to assess housing needs.
Funding comes from an NDIT program announced in April, which matches funding of up to 10 thousand dollars to perform assessment studies.
Council approved the application request last week in response to a previous report from staff.
An assessment study will help the city better understand their current housing needs and how they will change in the future.
If approved, the city will need to come up with the other half of the funding, which was budgeted for in their OCP.
