Terrace RCMP investigated 287 more files through the first quarter of 2019 than the same time period in 2018, an increase of 10 percent.
In total, 2,969 files were investigated by the detachment, with just over 23 hundred of those originiting within city limits.
Of those, 141 reports recommending charges were submitted to Crown Counsel.
Property offenses, up to 484 from 310 in 2018, and Liquor Act offenses, up to 224 from 132, saw the biggest increase in offenders.
Police were also involved in 917 miscellaneous calls, compared to 612 the previous year.
Those numbers include 161 false or abandoned calls, up 32 percent from 2018’s first quarter.
In addition, police have responded to 3 overdose calls in 2019 thus far, after responding to just 7 through all of 2018.
