RCMP will be posted at two Skeena-are middle schools today in response to threats posted on social media yesterday.
At around 3:00 yesterday afternoon, a message was posted to the Terrace Buy and Sell Facebook page warning of a pair of school shootings slated for today.
In response, RCMP will have officers stationed at both Skeena Middle School in Terrace, and Mount Elizabeth Middle and Secondary School in Kitimat.
Police, school officials, and District safety officials have all determined the threat to be low-risk and the police pressence is only a precaution.
RCMP are continuing to investigate both this new threat, and a separate threat from last week written on a bathroom mirror at Skeena Middle School.
