Terrace City Council have agreed to support a project to memorialize community icon Chris Arnold.
Arnold was a long time Terrace resident, and champion for those with disabilities, who passed away in 2017.
In 1992, Arnold co-founded Provincial Networking Inc to offer support, training, behavioural consulting, and employment assistance to Northwesterners with developmental disabilities.
Yesterday, the Terrace Beautification Society brought a request to support a project to honour Chris Arnold before Council.
The project will see a zen-inspired shelter placed at the east end of the Grand Trunk Pathway, near Chill, a business initiated by Arnold.
Inside the shelter would be a bench and memorial plaque, and exterior modifications would see the extension of the nearby sidewalk.
City Council agreed to approve the sidewalk realignment, and to get involved in the project’s planning and implimentation.
