Through the first quarter of 2019, the Terrace Fire Department responded to 288 calls.
That number is nearly 50 fewer than the same time period last year, in which crews responded to 332 calls.
In both cases, medical or first aid responder calls made up the largest chunk of those, with 192 this year, down from 246 the prior year.
Through the end of March, the department also responded to 41 fire calls, 27 rescue and motor vehicle calls, and 28 ambulance and mutual assistance calls.
In total, the department’s 25 active members were on call for 7,252 hours in the first quarter of 2019.
