Former Attorney General Jody Wilson-Raybould has announced that she will seek re-election this fall, just not as a Liberal.
Wilson-Raybould was ejected from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s cabinet last month.
Her expulsion came after a month’s long disagreement surrounding her decision not to issue SNC Lavalin a deferred prosecution agreement.
With trust severed between both parties, Wilson-Raybould will now cut ties with the Liberal party to run as an Independant in her Vancouver-Granville riding in this year’s federal election.
That announcement comes after the former Justice Minister had received offers to join the Greens from party leader Elizabeth May.
