Regional airports in Massett and Quesnel are among 16 receiving BC Air Access Program grants.
In total, 8 million dollars in grants will be split across 21 projects to support safety and infrastructure improvements.
For its 5th year, the program emphasized projects which improve airport safety, offer medevac and wildfire suppression support, and reduce environmental impacts.
In Quesnel, 30 thousand dollars will go towards airside sidewalks and building upgrades to improve fire protection.
Masset’s upgrades also come in the form of fire protection with nearly 480 thousand dollars going toward an underground fuel tank replacement.
