Plans to bring a new, state-of-the-art, truck inspection and weigh station to the Terrace area are underway.
Currently, the Terrace Inspection Station is located at the intersection of Highways 16 and 37.
With the upcoming traffic circle installation at the intersection, the Station will be forced to find a new home.
Last year, the proposal was denied for federal funding, but drew much more interest when presented this year.
Now, the Ministry of Transportation is seeking letters of support from the community to help lift the project even further.
Yesterday, City Council opted to write a letter of support on their behalf.
Currently, the Ministry is eyeing a location further down Highway 16, but a portable weigh scale will be used in the meantime.
