Patrons of the Skeena Bar may be able to enjoy a meal in the sunlight this summer.
Terrace City Council voted yesterday to allow an amendment to the bar’s liquor license to allow for a temporary outdoor patio.
Under the extension, the bar, referenced officially as the Skeena Hotel, would be able to operate the patio between June and the end of September.
Overall, the maximum capacity of the bar would remain at 70, though no more than 20 would be allowed on the patio at a time.
Currently, the plan is to build the patio on the adjacent public sidewalk, while leaving a suitable area for pedestrians to pass by.
Other concerns were brought up, but Council was assured that most would be addressed prior to actual implementation.
