According to the BC Teachers’ Federation, a non-confidence vote filed against School District 82’s Superintendent Katherine McIntosh has limited power.
Members of the Coast Mountain Teachers’ Federation sent a letter to the Board, making their concerns known following an early June vote.
But despite 99 percent of those who cast a vote being in favour of the result, the Provincial Federation says it is merely symbolic.
However, the local unit says that they have considered that, and hope that the letter drives home the urgency of their concerns.
Their letter did not specify their specific concerns, opting instead to wait for an in person meeting with Board of Education.
While they didn’t specify their reasons, the vote does come following recent public outcry over the re-assignment of multiple administrators in the region.
