An independant investigator has been hired to look in to the recent uproar surrounding the Coast Mountains School District.
Public outcry began against School District 82 Superintendent Katherine McIntosh after the unexplained re-assignment of a number of administrators.
A number of parents, community groups, and Indigenous groups pegged McIntosh for her failure to provide adequate reasoning for the moves.
Earlier this month, teachers from unions in Kitimat, Terrace, and Hazelton all signed on to a vote of non-confidence in McIntosh.
In addition, parents have held a number of protests contesting the moves since they were made, and have even gathered more than one thousand signatures on a petition to reverse the moves.
Now, the School Board has decided to launch a “thorough review of the issues”.
They say the goal of the review, which begins today, is not to challenge the decisions, but to gether as much insight and input as possible.
