Runners looking to honour the memory of those lost on the infamous Highway of Tears and inspire change came together early this morning.
Departing as early as 5:00 this morning, participants in the first Tears to Hope Relay Run set out from two separate starting points this morning.
With Terrace as their shared destination, runners began their days in both Smithers and Prince Rupert.
Runners will pass messages of hop to the next runner, and so on until they reach their destination.
They will finish their journeys tomorrow, which will be followed by a celebration in George Little Park and a Kitsumkalum hosted dinner.
Tears to Hop aims to provide a healthy and safe community for women and girls through healthy, inclusive, activities.
