Yesterday saw the passing of three important environmental Bills threw the Senate.
Bill C48, the Oil Tanker Moratorium Act, passed by the slimmest of margins to make the ban on west coast oil tanker traffic official.
Bill C68 made its way through the Senate as well, modifying the Fisheries Act to re-add protection for fish habitats, and add an Indigenous knowledge requirement.
Finally, Bill C69 also gained Senate approval to establish a new environmental assessment process for major industry projects.
It was the final day for Senate to pass the Bills before breaking for the summer, and ultimately the election.
