Following months of public outcry, School District 82’s Board of Directors has finally responded to the concerns of its constituents.
Parents, students, and teachers once again packed the Board’s offices in anticipation of today’s regular meeting.
The saga first kicked off in April, when the District announced they would be moving three local administrators back to the classroom.
Those included Suwilaaks Principal Pam Kawinsky, and Skeena Middle School Principal Phillip Barron and vice-principal Cory Killoran.
Last week, dozens of concerned residents attended the Board’s regular meeting to demand clarity on why the moves were made and to plead for a postponement.
Now, those residents’ voices have been heard, as the District announced a one year transition plan during today’s regular meeting.
While exactly how the transition plan will work is not yet clear, all three administrators will be returning to their school’s in some capacity.
More details on the announced transition plan will be released tomorrow afternoon, once the Board has had a chance to notify employees.
