Lightning is to blame for as many as 10 new wildfires in the Northwest that have sparked since Thursday.
According to the BC Wildfire Service, fires sprouted up across the Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, though the majority are now out or under control.
As of yesterday, four fires are still being actioned, with all measuring less than one hectare.
Two of the fires are located roughly 16 kms east of Meziadin Junction, while a third is 12.5 kms north of the Junction.
A fourth fire is located 16 kms southwest of Kitwanga, near Cedarvale.
All are receiving action, with air support where needed.
