Coast Mountain School District Superintendent Katherine McIntosh is taking a leave of absence.
In a release yesterday, the Board announced that Human Resources Director Janet Meyer would be taking the interim title immediately.
McIntosh was the only Board member absent from a meeting last week which featured a much anticipated announcement.
During that meeting, the Board announced their decision to reverse a previous plan to move three local administrators.
Back in April, School District 82’s Super announced that three beloved Terrace principals and vice-principals would be moving back to the classroom.
This sparked public concern, and eventually outcry as McIntosh refused to answer questions as to why the decision was made.
Following that, a number of local teachers unions banded together to issue a 99 percent non-confidence vote in McIntosh.
Last week, local teachers held a vote in which 98 percent issued non-confidence in the entire Board of Directors.
The Board’s release did not specify why McIntosh was taking the leave.
