Housing sales dipped across the Northwest through the first half of 2019, when compared to last year.
In Terrace, sales dropped from 173 through the first half of 2018 to 134 this year.
Prince Rupert saw a drop from 115 to 89, while Kitimat watched their sales drop to 71 from 95 last year.
Both Terrace and Prince Rupert saw their sales accompanied by minor drops in the value of said sales, though Kitimat actually saw the value jump by nearly 15 million dollars, despite the drop in quantity.
In the Bulkley-Nechako, Smithers, Burns Lake, and Fort St James all saw drops in the number of sales as well, though all but Fort St James garnered higher total profits.
Houston and Vanderhoof each saw modest jumps in the number of homes sold, as well as the value of those sales.
All of those numbers come from the BC Northern Real Estate Board’s second quarter report.
