Terrace residents are invited to attend a public hearing which will effect two Thomas Street properties this evening.
Two amendments to the Official Community Plan will be discussed during the mandatory hearings, which will take place at 6:45 in the Council Chambers.
Under the first proposal, the property at 4012 Thomas Street would be rezoned to allow the development of up to 30 detached residential units.
In order to do so, the property would need to shift from R3 zoning to R1 zoning, but requires an OCP amendment and, by extension, public hearing to do so.
A second OCP amendment would allow a portion of the property at 3725 Thomas Street to be rezoned as neighbourhood commercial.
That change would only effect part of the lot as it would be subdivided to keep the rest under low density residential zoning.
