Those behind a First Nations-led pipeline project more than six times the size of the Trans Mountain Pipeline are seeking clarity from the federal government.
With the passing of two recent bills which seek to impact the proposed Eagle Spirit Pipeline, the chiefs behind it are seeking guidance.
Supported by 35 First Nations so far, the pipeline corridor would feature four pipelines running between Fort McMurray and Prince Rupert.
More than 4 million barrels of crude oil would be shipped across the pipeline per day.
But the chiefs behind the project have become concerned over the recent passing of Bills C-69 and C-48, which seek to drastically alter the pipeline approval process.
They have pre-emptively filed a request for National Energy Board guidance ahead of their official application.
