Coast Mountain College will soon be looking for a new president.
After five years in the role, President and CEO Ken Burt has announced he will end his term September 20, 2019.
During Burt’s tenure, the community college was rebranded and re-named, there was a multi-million dollar upgrade to the Terrace campus trades building, the closure of the Houston campus, and an increased focus on attracting international students.
“During Ken’s time as President, the College has become sustainable and is well set up to continue the fantastic progress that has been made over the past five years,” said CMTN Board Chair, Nicole Halbauer in a news release.
Burt calls his five years at Coast Mountain College a “remarkable experience” and says he will miss the team.
Prior to joining Coast Mountain College, Burt was a senior administrator at Dalhousie University, Okanagan College, Okanagan University College and UBC.
He will be returning to Halifax to be with his wife and family.
