RCMP have confirmed that a young international couple found murdered along Highway 97 was shot.
The police provided an update on the deaths of 23-year-old Australian Lucas Fowler and his 24-year-old girlfriend Chynna Deese of Charlotte, N.C. Monday
Sergeant Janelle Shoihet says investigators have released a composite sketch of a man seen talking with Lucas Fowler, along RCMP say he is not a suspect.
Shoihet says RCMP don’t know if the homicides are linked with the disappearance of two Vancouver Island teens whose vehicle was found burning 470 kilometres away near the Stikine River Bridge last week.
Police have also released a composite sketch of an unidentified man whose body was found at a roadside pullout two kilometres away.
RCMP are asking the public to take safety precautions and “remain vigilant” as the force investigates the two cases.
