The embattled superintendent of the Coast Mountains School District will be working with the provincial government next year.
The District 82 board has announced that Katherine McIntosh has been seconded to the education ministry from September 1, 2019 until August 31, 2020.
McIntosh and the board were heavily criticized after a spring announcement that some much-loved Terrace school administrators would be shuffled back to the classroom.
The announcement set off student walk-outs, letters to the education minister, and a vote of non-confidence by the teachers union.
McIntosh took a leave of absence in July, not long after District 82 trustees announced a one-year transition plan before the popular principals would be moved.
The school board has announced that acting superintendent Janet Meyer will continue on in the role until the end of August, 2020.
Both announcements were made by news releases issued late Friday afternoon prior to the BC Day long weekend.
