The search for two B.C. murder suspects has ended in northern Manitoba.
RCMP have confirmed that the remains of two people were discovered by RCMP in extremely dense brush.
Investigators say items found along the shoreline of the Nelson River allowed police to pinpoint their search efforts and recover the remains about a kilometre away.
Assistant Commissioner Jane MacLatchy says autopsies are being conducted to determine identities of the bodies and cause of death to confirm they are Bryer Schmegelsky and Kam McLeod.
Kam McLeod, 19, and Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, from Port Alberni, B.C., were facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of a Vancouver man. They were also suspects in the shooting deaths of an American woman and her Australian boyfriend.
