The BC Wildfire Service is warning people to be more cautious with campfires.
Wardens had to put out 32 abandoned campfires during the B.C. Day long weekend.
Officials say unattended fires can lead to a $1150 ticket or the cost of firefighting and damages associated with a wildfire caused by a campfire.
While this wildfire season has been relatively quiet, warmer weather and increased fire danger ratings have wildfire officials urging people not to let down their guard.
