The provincial government has announced grants for three northern B.C. community groups to improve seniors wellness.
The Smithers Community Services Association, Dawson Creek Society for Community Living, and the Prince George Council of Seniors will each receive $100,000.
The money will used for a variety of programs like improving social connections, encouraging more participation in existing programs, and getting better access to healthy food.
The funding, through Northern Health, is part of a provincial initiative to help B.C. seniors to support healthy aging in place and enhance opportunities for social connection.
