RCMP and search and rescue crews are looking for a missing mushroom picker in the New Hazelton area.
Mounties say Wayne Morrison was picking with a friend in the Helen Lake area during the morning of August 27.
When he didn’t meet up wit his companion at the pre-arranged time of 5:00, his friend began looking for him, then contacted police.
Wayne Morrison is described as an Indigenous male, 5’11”, weighing 209 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
RCMP say he has been mushroom picking in the past and is familiar with the area, but add that he was not prepared to be out overnight.
