RCMP say a tire blow-out was responsible for a crash 50 km east of Terrace Wednesday afternoon.
Corporal Mike Halskov of E Division Traffic Services says a west-bound logging truck blew a tire, causing it to cross into the opposite lane and end up in the ditch.
The driver of an east-bound transport carrying cement powder saw the logging truck and was able to avoid a head-on crash.
The trailers of both vehicles collided, but RCMP say any injuries were minor and that the crash could’ve been much worse.
West Pacific Region Traffic Services (Terrace) and Commercial Vehicles Safety Enforcement (CVSE) officers are investigating.
Both rigs are expected to be recovered sometime Thursday.
