Prince Rupert RCMP say the disappearance of a Lax Kw’alaams man is considered suspicious.
Mounties admit there have made arrests in the community since Lawrence Douglas Maitland disappeared in mid-July, but say there are completely unrelated to his case.
The local detachment says it has asked North District RCMP for assistance with the investigation, but believe the disappearance is an isolated incident. Investigators say there is nothing to suggest that the public is at further risk.
Lawrence Maitland was las seen between July 17 and 18 pushing his bicycle on Victoria Street in Lax Kw’alaams.
