The Upper Skeena will be hosting a grand opening to its new state of the art recreation centre this Saturday
The festivities will include a free kid’s skate, a basketball scrimmage, food and beverage.
A number of local officials will be on hand, including Skeena-Bulkley Valley NDP MP Nathan Cullen, Stikine MLA Doug Donaldson, Alice Maitland, and architect John Hemsworth.
The 54,000 sq. ft. centre, will include an NHL-sized hockey rink with a 500 spectator capacity, a multi-purpose gym, and fitness centre.
There will also be a rentable banquet and meeting facilities, a seniors-oriented walking area, and an area featuring Gitxsan art.
