The Ocean Wise AquaVan is headed to the communities in northern B.C. from September 16th to October 9th.
Ocean Wise is sending a team of four educators and some fascinating aquatic ambassadors who are native to the Pacific Northwest to bring ocean education to schools.
On top of school programs that will reach approximately 2,600 students the Ocean Wise team will head to Prince Rupert to participate in a community event on September 28th. This event will allow children and their familes to share an experience in the AquaVan.
Students will explore ideas from the B.C. curricultum to further their understanding of the roles individual communities and governments can play in ensuring a bright future in our changing climate.
Participants will get to experience a virtual visit with the Ocean Wise educators allowing connections between participants and other students in the school district.
Students will also get to participate in a classroom visit with the Ocean Wise AquaVan getting to interact with the mobile aquaria.
On September 30th youth inĀ Terrace will also have an opportunity to share what they learned in a special Climate Communication Showcase.
