A temporary schedule for the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) is in place between Ketchikan and Prince Rupert.
AMHS sailings to Prince Rupert are scheduled for Oct. 29 and Nov. 25. Reservations are now available at the Ferry Alaska website or by calling into the AMHS reservations center.
With approval from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and law enforcement support from the City of Prince Rupert the two runs are able to take place. The parties are working together to determine how the AMHS can meet the border and protection requirements in Rupert and continue sailing in the future.
Future sailings to Prince Rupert are dependent on a number of factors that include considerable financial investment and meeting the long-term requirements of the CBP.
