Ferry Route 26’s return to full service will be delayed until April 2020.
The ferry route runs between Skidegate and Alliford bay. The ferry leaves Alliford Bay for the first sailing of the day at 7:15 a.m. and the last sailing is from Skidegate departing at 6:10 p.m.
The current ferry schedule has a big impact on school students as they are unable to attend any sort of after school programming. The residents of Sandspit also have limited access to medical care.
A letter has been sent to Claire Trevena Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure asking for assistance or advice in moving up the date for restoring full ferry service.
