Northern Health has asked School District 52 to provide bottled water or use filtered water fountains for safe drinking water.
The allowable limit for lead in water has been cut in half. Following a number of tests the district was able to confirm that flushing the water lines was not effective to reduce the amount of lead in the water to this new limit.
There is also a new limit for copper in water. The district is consulting with the Northern Health Authority on the steps to take to meet this new requirement.
