Last night two individuals were turned away at the RCMP checkpoint at the Morice West Forest Service Rd.
A driver and two passengers drove to the checkpoint stating they were dropping off supplies for the camp. The driver provided her identification but the female and male passenger refused to do so. Both passengers were refused entry and the driver proceeded, stopping on the other side. The male and female passengers then on foot attempted to cross the checkpoint.
The male stopped however the female continued and was told that she was being detained. She then turned around and walked away from the checkpoint the detention was then over.
RCMP remind the public that the checkpoint remains in place as a measured response as dialogue continues towards resolving the issues.
