Coastal Gas Link has released a statement regarding the discussions between the Government of British Columbia and the Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs.
CGL says that they are disappointed that discussions have ended without a resolution. Costal Gas Link has had their senior leadership team in Smithers since Sunday to meet with the Hereditary Chiefs if required.
CGL will be resuming work on the Morice River area in accordance with their permits and injunction. They hope that the resuming of construction occurs in a peaceful and lawful manner. CGL will remain committed to ongoing engagement and dialogue with all the Indigenous communities across the route.
