Amid the Wet’suwet’en situation Taylor Bachrach, MP for Skeena-Bulkley Valley has released a statement regarding the situation.
He says, “I am saddened by this morning’s events on Wet’suwet’en territory. This doesn’t feel like reconciliation. My thoughts are with everyone involved in this difficult situation and it is my sincere hope that people’s Charter rights are respected and upheld.”
He goes on to say that the safety of everyone involved is of concern. He had hoped that the talks that took place over the last few days would have produced a resolution and prevented today’s arrests.
Bachrach closes by reminding everyone to treat each other with empathy, respect and compassion and that we are all neighbours.
