Terrace Search and Rescue crews had a packed weekend.
Avalanche technicians were helicoptered to the Shames Mountain area Satuday morning after a backcountry skier was reported overdue the night before.
Searchers were able safely locate the skier about three kilometres northeast of Shames.
He spent the night in a makeshift snow cave after he lost a ski.
Later Saturday, Prince Rupert RCMP requested a SAR manager after police were contacte about three missing hikers on Mount Hayes. However, the hikers were able to find their own way out and SAR was stood day.
Terrace Search and Rescue was back at it Sunday morning for two overdue snowmobilers on Sterling Mountain north of Terrace.
A helicopter, along with two SAR Rhinos, 15 searchers, and and mobile command were dispatched.
The helicopter was able to find the two sledders, who spent the night on the mountain with a fire and provisions in the area due to a breakdown.
