Coast Mountain College and Coast Mountain Foundation will boost funding to student Emergency Bursaries during a time of need amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
They will be making an additional $40,000 available. A $20,000 commitment comes from money raised in the Employee Giving Program and donations from community members.
“We are very grateful for the donations received from community members and our many employees,” said Brian Badge, Executive Director of College Advancement and CMTN Foundation CAO. “It now enables us to provide emergency and immediate financial relief to our students as they work to complete this semester of study.”
Funds are released through distribution of gift cards valued at $250 each for grocery stores located in Terrace, Prince Rupert or Smithers. These are available to students who apply and can demonstrate a financial need.
