The school year for many students continues in a very different way.
Acting Superintendent of Schools Janet Meyer has said that all students will still be assessed and get marks. They will be assessed by not only what their mark was up to the Mar. 17 date but also how they interact with their teachers. If students were on track to graduate previous to in-class schooling being suspended they still have the opportunity to do so.
The School District has been using online tools to connect with their students including, Moodle, Office 365 and Fresh Grade. Moving to online has posed some challenges, now students who don’t have access to this technology will have a harder time receiving the information needed. Meyer says that the school is redeploying some technology within the school and reaching out to service providers in the area. This is all to make it easier for students to connect with teachers and access the material they need to finish their years.
You can find all the information on the School District’s website.
