Yesterday evening, police and emergency services responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 16 near the Shames Mountain turn off west of Terrace.
Upon arrival, police found a badly damaged Dodge pickup with two female occupants. The driver was deceased at the scene. The passenger was extricated from the truck and transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Both women are in their late twenties and are from northern BC.
The highway was closed for a time as police investigated. The investigation is being led by West Pacific Region Traffic Services with assistance from the BC Coroners’ Service. If you have any information regarding the crash you’re asked to contact WPRTS in Terrace at 250-638-7400.
