A person was attacked by a wolf this morning in Port Edward.
The Conservation Officer Service has sent out three officers in the community for the day. There will also be a night shift of officers.
People are reminded to keep their pets indoors or on leashes at all times, especially during the hunt for the wolf. Further updates will come from the Conservation Officers.
My biggest concern is for the condition of the person who was attacked; then to find a way to convince Conservation to do a cull of wolves in this area. They’re habituated and they’re taking animals right from yards. What’s more, they’re no longer afraid to attack humans which means they’re hungry.
